Lanyards support an identification process; a printed strap alone does not provide electronic access control.

Printing and Woven Designs

Available customization options vary by model. Full-color dye sublimation suits detailed designs and gradients. Screen printing works well for artwork with a limited number of colors. Woven designs use colored threads to create a textured finish.

Check the print area, color options, and artwork requirements for your chosen model. Keep small lettering readable and use a design that works along a narrow strap.

Materials, Widths, and Lengths

Choosing the right custom lanyard starts with the people who will wear it and the item it will hold. Compare polyester, satin, nylon, tubular, woven, and rPET options where available. Review each product’s material details rather than assuming all models offer the same finish or environmental characteristics.

Common widths include approximately 0.39, 0.59, 0.79, and 0.98 in (10, 15, 20, and 25 mm). Width affects the space available for artwork. Check the actual length and whether the selected model is adjustable; one size does not necessarily fit every wearer.

Choose the Right Attachment

• Badge clips and hooks: check that the attachment fits the slot or hole in your badge holder.
• Detachable buckles: allow the lower section to be removed without taking the entire lanyard off.
• Breakaway attachments: are designed to release under tension. Select a model appropriate for the setting; no lanyard guarantees protection against injury.
• Double-clip styles: can attach to two points on a compatible badge holder to help keep it facing forward.

Pair Lanyards With Badge Holders

Order a badge holder separately when needed. Compare the usable insert dimensions, orientation, and attachment holes with your badge. A6 inserts measure approximately 4.13 × 5.83 in (105 × 148 mm); other holders have different internal and external measurements.

Use promotional lanyards for staff identification, conference credentials, sponsor branding, or event giveaways. Choose the combination based on the actual badge and wearer requirements.
